1) Who we are

HE Higher Education Ranking (“HE Ranking,” “we,” “our,” “us”) operates the websites at heranking.com and related subdomains (including ranking.heranking.com) (collectively, the “Site”).
We are independently published and American-registered (Dover, Kent County, Delaware; File Number 10157263).

2) Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Site, creating an account, or interacting with our services (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Use (the “Terms”) and to any policies referenced here (e.g., our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

3) Changes to the Terms or Services

We may update these Terms or modify/interrupt the Services at any time. When we make material changes, we will post the new Terms and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use after changes means you accept them.

6) Rankings & methodology disclaimer

Our rankings, indicators, metrics, and related materials are informational and based on stated methodologies, available sources, and time-bound datasets. They do not constitute endorsements, certifications, or professional advice. Institutions’ positions may change as methods and data evolve. We may revise data and results without notice.

7) Acceptable use (what you may not do)

You agree not to:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, or data-mine the Site or its content (including rankings and datasets) except as allowed by applicable law or by our written permission.

  • Use bots, spiders, or similar tools to harvest data.

  • Reverse engineer or attempt to access the Site’s source code.

  • Upload or transmit malware or engage in activity that degrades or harms the Site.

  • Use the Site in violation of applicable laws or third-party rights, or for advertising/marketing without our consent.

We may restrict or revoke access for violations.

8) User content

If you submit or upload content (e.g., text, data, comments, files), you represent and warrant that you own or have rights to it and that it does not infringe others’ rights or applicable law. You grant HE Ranking a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, and adapt that content solely to operate and improve the Services. We may remove content that we reasonably consider unlawful, infringing, or contrary to these Terms.

9) Third-party links & services

The Site may link to third-party websites or services. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them.

Your use of the Site is subject to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy (which explain what data we collect, why, and how to manage cookies/consent). 11) Copyright complaints (DMCA)

13) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HE Ranking and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of the Site. Our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) USD 100 or (b) the amounts you paid to us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

14) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HE Ranking and our affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

15) Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access (including by IP blocking) for any violation of these Terms or to comply with law. You may delete your account at any time by contacting info@heranking.com. Termination does not relieve you of accrued obligations.

16) Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Delaware.

17) International users

Accessing the Site from regions where its content or practices are illegal is prohibited. You are responsible for compliance with local laws, including data, consumer, and export regulations.

18) Severability; waiver; assignment; entire agreement

If any provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it is severed and the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them. These Terms (plus referenced policies) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
